The evolution of innate immune receptors: investigating the diversity, distribution, and phylogeny of immune recognition across eukaryotes
Buckley, K. M., & Yoder, J. A. (2021, December 15). IMMUNOGENETICS, Vol. 74.
MeSH headings : Eukaryota; Evolution, Molecular; Immunity, Innate / genetics; Phylogeny; Receptors, Immunologic
topics (OpenAlex): Vibrio bacteria research studies; Aquaculture disease management and microbiota; Immune Response and Inflammation
TL;DR:
The diversity of IIRs from plants, vertebrates, invertebrate deuterostomes, a range of protostome invertebrates and basal metazoans is explored, and it is suggested that, to fully understand eukaryotic immune systems, further investigations of these proteins are warranted.
