Use of in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer to circumvent infertility caused by an inherited imperforate vagina in mice

Journal of In Vitro Fertilization and Embryo Transfer, 8(3), 167.

By: B. Didion n, M. Hauser n & E. Eisen n

MeSH headings : Animals; Embryo Transfer; Female; Fertilization in Vitro; Genes, Recessive / genetics; Infertility, Female / etiology; Infertility, Female / therapy; Male; Mice; Mutation / genetics; Vagina / abnormalities
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer can be used for propagating a mutant gene that causes infertility in females that was discovered in a line of mice selected for low lean tissue mass. (via Semantic Scholar)

Observations on the cooling and cryopreservation of pig oocytes at the germinal vesicle stage

Journal of Animal Science, 68(9), 2803.

By: B. Didion n, D. Pomp n, M. Martin n, G. Homanics n & C. Markert n

MeSH headings : Animals; Cryopreservation / veterinary; Female; Oocytes / physiology; Swine / physiology
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that pig oocytes at the germinal vesicle stage did not survive cooling to 15 degrees C or below and when assessing the viability of cryopreserved cumulus enclosed oocytes it is important to use vital stains in conjunction with morphological appearance. PARTHENOGENETIC ACTIVATION OF MOUSE AND PIG OOCYTES MATURED INVITRO

THERIOGENOLOGY, 33(6), 1165–1175.

By: B. Didion n, M. Martin n & C. Markert n

TL;DR: To determine if mouse and pig oocytes matured in vitro undergo parthenogenetic activation following exposure to various activation stimuli, samples were collected from pregnant mare serum gonadotropin primed mice and incubated overnight in Brinster's medium. (via Semantic Scholar)
