TL;DR:
There were little differences in the attractancy of domestic and wild animals, and it was concluded that C. furens and C. hollensis have a wide host range and should not be classified as either ornithophilic or mammalophilic, Catches of Culicoides by animal-baited traps were poorly correlated with catches in nearby emergence and sticky cylinder traps.

Monitoring of Culicoides furens and C. Hollensis during peak seasonal abundance near salt marsh breeding sites by hourly collections with suction traps found both species had 2 crepuscular peaks of activity.
