In 1982, a field survey in corn indicated a relationship between use of terbufos as a soil-applied treatment at planting and the incidence of heavy infestations of Tetranychus urticae Koch in treated corn and adjacent peanut fields and the implications for the pest potential of mites on other crop hosts in a corn/peanut agroecosystem are discussed.
