SEPARATE MOLECULAR MECHANISMS REGULATE CAT2 GENE-EXPRESSION BEFORE AND AFTER GLYOXYSOME MATURATION IN 2 GENETIC LINES OF MAIZE

DEVELOPMENTAL GENETICS, 11(4), 280–288.

MeSH headings : Blotting, Western; Catalase / biosynthesis; Catalase / genetics; Gene Expression Regulation, Enzymologic; Isoenzymes / biosynthesis; Isoenzymes / genetics; Microbodies / enzymology; Polyribosomes / metabolism; Protein Biosynthesis; RNA, Messenger / metabolism; Transcription, Genetic; Zea mays / enzymology; Zea mays / genetics; Zea mays / growth & development
TL;DR: The early increase in CAT-2, between day 2 and day 5 post-imbibition, occurs despite a sharp decline in polysomal Cat2 mRNA, related to a transient decline in total extractable polysomes which paradoxically coincides with the peak in glyoxysomal enzyme activities. (via Semantic Scholar)
