Substrates that enable self-assembly of the colloids include silicon wafer, polydimethylsiloxane, and microscope slide, where patterns of hydrophilic surface were either created using oxygen plasma treatment or stamped with chemical ink using microcontact printing. Upon substrates being immersed in a solution containing silver-aminosilica colloids, particles attach to hydrophobic surfaces and continuously self-assemble onto the deposited film, allowing us to fabricate nanocomposite patterns with controllable thickness (approximately 200 nm).}, number={12}, journal={ACS APPLIED MATERIALS & INTERFACES}, author={Choi, Yong-Jae and Luo, Tzy-Jiun M.}, year={2009}, month={Dec}, pages={2778–2784} } @article{choi_huh_luo_2009, title={Spontaneous formation of silver nanoparticles in aminosilica}, volume={51}, ISSN={["1573-4846"]}, DOI={10.1007/s10971-009-1934-1}, number={1}, journal={JOURNAL OF SOL-GEL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY}, author={Choi, Yong-Jae and Huh, Uk and Luo, Tzy-Jiun M.}, year={2009}, month={Jul}, pages={124–132} }
