THE M RNA OF IMPATIENS NECROTIC SPOT TOSPOVIRUS (BUNYAVIRIDAE) HAS AN AMBISENSE GENOMIC ORGANIZATION

VIROLOGY, 188(2), 732–741.

By: M. Law n, J. Speck n & J. Moyer n

MeSH headings : Amino Acid Sequence; Base Sequence; Bunyaviridae / genetics; Cloning, Molecular; DNA / genetics; Genes, Viral; Molecular Sequence Data; Nucleic Acid Hybridization; Protein Biosynthesis; RNA, Viral / genetics; Transcription, Genetic; Viral Proteins / genetics; Viral Structural Proteins / genetics
TL;DR: The nucleotide sequence of Impatiens necrotic spot virus (INSV) M RNA was determined from cDNA clones with an ambisense genomic organization characteristic of the S RNA for members of the Phlebovirus, Uukuvirus, and Tospovirus genera in the Bunyaviridae family. (via Semantic Scholar)

JOURNAL OF GENERAL VIROLOGY, 72, 2597–2601.

By: M. Law n, J. Speck n & J. Moyer n

MeSH headings : Amino Acid Sequence; Base Sequence; Blotting, Northern; Bunyaviridae / genetics; Capsid / genetics; Genes, Viral; Introns; Molecular Sequence Data; Open Reading Frames; RNA, Viral / genetics; Sequence Alignment; Viral Core Proteins / genetics
TL;DR: The degree of similarity in the terminal sequence, untranslated region and N ORF is similar to that expected between distinct serogroups within certain genera of the Bunyaviridae. (via Semantic Scholar)

A TOMATO SPOTTED WILT-LIKE VIRUS WITH A SEROLOGICALLY DISTINCT N-PROTEIN

JOURNAL OF GENERAL VIROLOGY, 71, 933–938.

By: M. Law n & J. Moyer n

TL;DR: A serologically distinct member of the tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV) group was isolated from the hybrid flower crop New Guinea impatiens (Impatiens sp.) and termed TSWV-I, which is consistent with serological analyses of the nairovirus and phlebovirus genera of the Bunyaviridae, the virus family that T SWV most closely resembles. EFFECT OF HOST-RESISTANCE ON PATHOGENESIS OF MAIZE-DWARF MOSAIC-VIRUS

PHYTOPATHOLOGY, 79(7), 757–761.

By: M. Law*, J. Moyer & G. Payne

TL;DR: It is proposed that the resistance mechanism expressed in PB3187 acts at a specific point of systemic virus transport, thereby limiting upward virus transport from the roots to young, developing leaves. (via Semantic Scholar)
