Palliation of clinical signs in 48 dogs with nasal carcinomas treated with coarse-fraction radiation therapy

JOURNAL OF THE AMERICAN ANIMAL HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION, 44(3), 116–123.

By: T. Gieger*, K. Rassnick, S. Siegel, D. Proulx*, P. Bergman, C. Anderson, T. LaDue, A. Smith, N. Northrup, R. Roberts

MeSH headings : Animals; Dog Diseases / mortality; Dog Diseases / radiotherapy; Dogs; Dose Fractionation, Radiation; Female; Male; Nose Neoplasms / mortality; Nose Neoplasms / radiotherapy; Nose Neoplasms / veterinary; Palliative Care; Records / veterinary; Retrospective Studies; Risk Factors; Survival Analysis; Treatment Outcome
TL;DR: Survition times were shorter in dogs that had partial or no resolution of clinical signs after PRT than in dogs who had complete resolution ofclinical signs. (via Semantic Scholar)

2001 journal article

Hyperactive glycogen synthase mutants of Saccharomyces cerevisiae suppress the glc7-1 protein phosphatase mutant

JOURNAL OF BACTERIOLOGY, 183(3), 821–829.

By: C. Anderson n & K. Tatchell n

MeSH headings : Amino Acid Sequence; Cloning, Molecular; Fungal Proteins / genetics; Glycogen / metabolism; Glycogen Synthase / genetics; Molecular Sequence Data; Mutation; Phosphates / metabolism; Phosphoprotein Phosphatases / genetics; Saccharomyces cerevisiae / enzymology; Saccharomyces cerevisiae / genetics; Sequence Analysis, DNA; Suppression, Genetic
TL;DR: The relative levels of fitness of GSY2 mutants that fail to accumulate glycogen and that hyperaccumulate glycogen were assayed by cocultivation experiments and a wild-type strain outcompeted both hypo- andhyperaccumulating strains, suggesting that glycogen levels contribute substantially to the fitness of yeast.
