Effects of substituents on synthetic analogs of chlorophylls. Part 1: Synthesis, vibrational properties and excited-state decay characteristics

PHOTOCHEMISTRY AND PHOTOBIOLOGY, 83(5), 1110–1124.

By: H. Kee*, C. Kirmaier*, Q. Tang*, J. Diers*, C. Muthiah n, M. Taniguchi n, J. Laha n, M. Ptaszek n ...

Contributors: H. Kee*, C. Kirmaier*, Q. Tang*, J. Diers*, C. Muthiah n, M. Taniguchi n, J. Laha n, M. Ptaszek n ...

TL;DR: The spectral, vibrational and excited‐state decay characteristics are examined for a set of synthetic chlorins and the zinc chlorins with the red‐most fluorescence also have the greatest radiative decay rate constant and are expected to have the fastest nonradiative internal conversion to the ground state. JOURNAL OF ORGANIC CHEMISTRY, 71(18), 7049–7052.

By: J. Laha n, C. Muthiah n, M. Taniguchi n & J. Lindsey n

Contributors: J. Laha n, C. Muthiah n, M. Taniguchi n & J. Lindsey n

MeSH headings : Chemistry, Organic / methods; Heterocyclic Compounds / chemical synthesis; Heterocyclic Compounds / chemistry; Porphyrins / chemistry; Spectrometry, Fluorescence; Spectrum Analysis / methods
TL;DR: A new route to 13(1)-oxophorbines, the parent macrocycle of chlorophylls, begins with the synthesis of a 13-bromochlorin through pd-mediated coupling of the latter with tributyl(1-ethoxyvinyl)tin and subsequent acidic hydrolysis. (via Semantic Scholar)
