A total of 809 resonances were observed. The purity and completeness of the {sup 45}Sc data were tested with a variety of statistical analyses. These analyses suggest that the 1/2{sup +} and 1/2{sup -} resonance sequences are the most pure and complete ever measured. The resulting level densities are {rho}(1/2){sup +}=127{sub -8}{sup +7} MeV{sup -1} and {rho}(1/2{sup -})=132{sub -9}{sup +8} MeV{sup -1}; there is no evidence of parity dependence of the level density of J=1/2 states at E{sub x}=10 MeV in {sup 45}Sc.}, number={6}, journal={PHYSICAL REVIEW C}, author={Lokitz, SJ and Mitchell, GE and Shriner, JF}, year={2005}, month={Jun} } @article{lokitz_mitchell_shriner_2004, title={Parity dependence of Sc-45 level densities}, volume={599}, ISSN={["1873-2445"]}, DOI={10.1016/j.physletb.2004.08.039}, abstractNote={The parity dependence of nuclear level densities provides a detailed test of the predictions of level density models. Proton resonances are extremely well suited for such studies. A high-resolution measurement of resonances in the 44Ca(p, p0) and 44Ca(p, p1) reactions determined resonance parameters for ≈800 resonances. Statistical analyses to evaluate the number of missing levels and of misassignments suggest that the 1/2+ and 1/2− data sets are the most pure and complete ever obtained. The resulting level densities are ρ(1/2+)=127−8+7MeV−1 and ρ(1/2−)=132−9+8MeV−1.
