The adaptor molecule Trif contributes to murine host defense during Leptospiral infection

IMMUNOBIOLOGY, 221(9), 964–974.

By: P. Jayaraman n, A. Devlin n, J. Miller n & F. Scholle n

author keywords: Leptospira interrogans; Leptospirosis; Innate immunity; TRIF
MeSH headings : Adaptor Proteins, Vesicular Transport / genetics; Adaptor Proteins, Vesicular Transport / immunology; Animals; Cytokines / blood; Cytokines / genetics; Cytokines / immunology; Immunoglobulin A / immunology; Immunoglobulin M / immunology; Kidney / immunology; Leptospira / immunology; Leptospirosis / immunology; Lung / immunology; Mice, Inbred C57BL; Mice, Knockout; RNA, Messenger / metabolism
TL;DR: Multiple components of the innate immune responses were dampened in response to leptospiral infection including transcription and production of cytokines, and the humoral response, which suggested that TRIF contributes to expression and productionof cytokines important for the host defense against L. interrogans. No Evidence that Infection Alters Global Recombination Rate in House Mice

PLoS One, 10(11).

By: B. Dumont n, A. Devlin n, D. Truempy n, J. Miller n & N. Singh n

MeSH headings : Animals; Borrelia Infections / genetics; Borrelia Infections / microbiology; Borrelia burgdorferi / physiology; Crossing Over, Genetic; Female; Genetic Variation; Male; Mice; Mice, Inbred C57BL; Testis / metabolism
TL;DR: The findings suggest that recombination rates in house mice may be resilient to at least some forms of infection stress, and motivates future experiments with alternative house mouse pathogens to evaluate the generality of this conclusion. (via Semantic Scholar)
