TL;DR: The oomycete Phytophthora capsici is a destructive pathogen of a wide range of vegetable hosts, especially peppers and cucurbits, and its genome assembly was constructed using PacBio and Illumina data and annotated with support from transcriptome sequencing (RNA-Seq) reads.
