Nucleosome-like, Single-stranded DNA (ssDNA)-Histone Octamer Complexes and the Implication for DNA Double Strand Break Repair

JOURNAL OF BIOLOGICAL CHEMISTRY, 292(13), 5271–5281.

MeSH headings : Chromatin Assembly and Disassembly / genetics; DNA Breaks, Double-Stranded; DNA Repair / genetics; DNA, Single-Stranded / metabolism; Genomic Instability; Histones / metabolism; Nucleosomes / metabolism; Protein Processing, Post-Translational; Saccharomyces cerevisiae / genetics; Saccharomyces cerevisiae Proteins / metabolism; Transcription Factors / metabolism
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that histones are not evicted from ssDNA after in vitro chromatin resection, indicating that ssNucs may be a hallmark of processes that generate ssDNA, and that posttranslational modification of ssNUCs may generate novel signaling platforms involved in genome stability. High Throughput Heuristics for Prioritizing Human Exposure to Environmental Chemicals

ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY, 48(21), 12760–12767.

By: J. Wambaugh, A. Wang n, K. Dionisio, A. Frame*, P. Egeghy, R. Judson, R. Setzer

MeSH headings : Bayes Theorem; Biomarkers / urine; Child; Databases, Factual; Environmental Exposure / analysis; Environmental Pollutants / analysis; Environmental Pollutants / chemistry; Heuristics; Humans; Linear Models; Nutrition Surveys; United States
TL;DR: This work used Bayesian methodology to infer ranges of exposure consistent with biomarkers identified in urine samples from the U.S. population by the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). (via Semantic Scholar)
