Local Clustering with Mean Teacher for Semi-supervised learning

2020 25TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON PATTERN RECOGNITION (ICPR), pp. 6243–6250.

By: Z. Chen n, B. Dutton n, B. Ramachandra n, T. Wu n & R. Vatsavai n

TL;DR: This work proposes a simple yet effective method called Local Clustering (LC) to mitigate the effect of confirmation bias in the Mean Teacher model and demonstrates on semi-supervised benchmark datasets SVHN and CIFAR-10 that adding the LC loss to MT yields significant improvements compared to MT and performance comparable to the state of the art in semi- supervised learning. Anomalous cluster detection in spatiotemporal meteorological fields

STATISTICAL ANALYSIS AND DATA MINING, 12(2), 88–100.

By: B. Ramachandra n, B. Dutton n & R. Vatsavai n

author keywords: anomaly detection; clustering; spatiotemporal data mining
TL;DR: This paper develops a method for extreme event detection in meteorological datasets that follows from well known distribution‐based anomaly detection approaches and generalizes the Mahalanobis distance across distributions of different dimensionalities. (via Semantic Scholar)
