I am an agronomist/agronomy engineer who leads and coordinates projects in controlled environment agriculture. My innovations and professional goals focus on increasing production and understanding plant and crop physiology while reducing resources and environmental impact. I have created several advanced growing systems for greenhouse and indoor farm studies at NC State University to increase the quality and reproducibility of the data, plant and crop physiology understanding, and resource use efficiencies. I joined the NC State Controlled Environment team in 2016 and am very proud and grateful to have my wife, Laura, and my daughters, Aylen and Lucia, in my life.

Effects of Light Intensity, Spectral Composition, and Paclobutrazol on the Morphology, Physiology, and Growth of Petunia, Geranium, Pansy, and Dianthus Ornamental Transplants

JOURNAL OF PLANT GROWTH REGULATION, 41(2), 461–478.

By: C. Collado n & R. Hernandez n

author keywords: Light-emitting diode; Plant growth regulators; PBZ; HPS; Supplemental light; Daily light integral; PPFD; Blue light; Green light; Red light
TL;DR: The synergistic effects of the combination of PBZ and supplemental lighting resulted in the most compact plants, caused by a reduction in plant height byPBZ and an increase in dry mass by SL, but PBZ reduced shoot dry mass of most plant species and light combinations. (via Semantic Scholar)
