author keywords: neutrophils; Salmonella; MARCKS; respiratory burst; migration; phagocytosis
topics (OpenAlex): Salmonella and Campylobacter epidemiology; Neutrophil, Myeloperoxidase and Oxidative Mechanisms; Trace Elements in Health
TL;DR: This study demonstrates that MARCKS inhibition attenuated STm-induced neutrophil adhesion and chemotaxis and enhanced neutrophil phagocytosis and respiratory burst in response to STm, the first report describing the role of MARCKS protein in neutrophil antibacterial responses.
