MeSH headings : Animals; Carcinoma, Squamous Cell / veterinary; Cat Diseases / radiotherapy; Cats; Neoplasm Recurrence, Local / veterinary; Progression-Free Survival; Retrospective Studies; Treatment Outcome
TL;DR: In cats with INC, DRT is associated with prolonged OST and PFS as compared to PRT, and if tumor progression occurs, a second course of DRT should be considered. (via Semantic Scholar)

Epidermal growth factor receptor expression in feline oral squamous cell carcinomas

VETERINARY AND COMPARATIVE ONCOLOGY, 4(1), 33–40.

By: J. Looper n, D. Malarkey*, D. Ruslander n, D. Proulx n & D. Thrall n

author keywords: epidermal growth factor receptor; feline; immunohistochemistry; oral squamous cell carcinoma; tyrosine kinase inhibitors
TL;DR: Thirteen formalin-fixed paraffin wax-embedded biopsy samples from feline oral SCC were analysed and nine of 13 tumours were positive for EGFR expression, suggesting that altered EGFRexpression plays a role in feline Oral SCC and provides a rationale for a potential clinical benefit using EGFR inhibitors in combination with conventional treatments.
