I am a managing librarian and associate department head at the North Carolina State University Libraries. I collaborate with students and faculty across disciplines to achieve their creative and academic goals. I work primarily with faculty and students in the humanities and social sciences, and have a passion for interdisciplinary research and scholarship. I advise all library users on research strategy, navigating information systems, and utilizing emerging technology. I also oversee the use of immersive projection spaces, and am interested in how technology can enhance the learning and research experiences through the affordances of embodiment, presence, and empathy. I have developed a service model and team mentality that facilitates a wide range of engagement with immersive technology as a tool, not an end in itself. more less
