Genotype, Environment, Year, and Harvest Effects on Fruit Quality Traits of Five Blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum L.) Cultivars

AGRONOMY-BASEL, 11(9).

By: L. Redpath n, M. Gumpertz n, J. Ballington n, N. Bassil* & H. Ashrafi n

author keywords: blueberry; Vaccinium corymbosum; genotype by environment; fruit quality; Maker-Assisted-Selection
TL;DR: Assessment of genotypic performance of five blueberry cultivars indicated that genotype was a significant source of variation for most phenotypic characteristics and clonal plant replicates within a genotype, harvest, and environment, in addition to individual fruit measures, were the most significant sources of variability. High-density linkage map construction and identification of loci regulating fruit quality traits in blueberry

HORTICULTURE RESEARCH, 8(1).

By: M. Mengist n, H. Bostan n, E. Young n, K. Kay*, N. Gillitt*, J. Ballington n, C. Kay n, M. Ferruzzi n ...

TL;DR: The genetic basis of fruit quality traits in blueberry was dissected and an association between these fruit quality trait and metabolites detected by Proton nuclear magnetic resonance analysis was established. (via Semantic Scholar)

Relationships among blueberry species within the section Cyanococcus of the Vaccinium genus based on EST-PCR markers

Rowland, L. J., Ogden, E. L., & Ballington, J. R. (2021, December 13). CANADIAN JOURNAL OF PLANT SCIENCE.

By: L. Rowland*, E. Ogden* & J. Ballington n

author keywords: DNA markers; dendrograms; evolutionary relationships; expressed sequence tag-polymerase chain reaction; phylogenetic relationships
TL;DR: Phylogenetic relationships of 50 accessions of different ploidy levels within Cyanococcus were investigated using 249 expressed sequence tag-polymerase chain reaction markers and standard clustering methods, shedding light on the origins of these polyploid species of North America.
