Modular Approach to Heterogenous Catalysis. Manipulation of Cross-Coupling Catalyst Activity

ORGANIC LETTERS, 18(2), 312–315.

By: I. Stibingerova*, S. Voltrova*, S. Kocova*, M. Lindale* & J. Srogl n

MeSH headings : Catalysis; Gels / chemistry; Molecular Structure; Palladium / chemistry; Structure-Activity Relationship
TL;DR: A new type of robust, heterogeneous, modular Pd catalyst with metal embedded in the gel matrix is presented and the regulatory element of its catalytic activity has been introduced via chemical changes in the Gel. (via Semantic Scholar)

On-Demand Degrafting and the Study of Molecular Weight and Grafting Density of Poly(methyl methacrylate) Brushes on Flat Silica Substrates

LANGMUIR, 31(8), 2372–2381.

By: R. Patil n, S. Turgman-Cohen*, J. Srogl n, D. Kiserow n & J. Genzer n

TL;DR: The dry PMMA brush thickness and the number-average molecular weight suggest that the grafting density of the PMMA grafts is independent of polymerization time, indicating well-controlled/living growth of MMA and small but noticeable dependence of the polymer brush graftingdensity on the inhibitor/catalyst ratio.
