IEEE Recommended Practice C57.110 extrapolates transformer loss for harmonic frequencies based on DC winding resistance and rated eddy-current loss. This paper describes an improved derating technique based on direct measurements performed at fundamental and harmonic frequencies. The measurements can be performed regardless of whether the transformer is energized and in service or deenergized and out of service. For energized transformers, the measurement can be performed regardless of whether the transformer is fully loaded or unloaded. The computer system was subjected to the following three types of electrical disturbances: power disturbances from the utility; local disturbances from nearby end-use devices; and RFI from industrial equipment. Test results indicate that a well configured PC LAN is quite immune to most utility power disturbances, but some local disturbances, especially RFI, can degrade the performance of the system considerably. Test results also give important hints towards investigating power quality problems related to computer loads.}, number={4}, journal={IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON POWER DELIVERY}, author={Baran, ME and Maclaga, J and Kelley, AW and Craven, K}, year={1998}, month={Oct}, pages={1309–1315} } @article{rhode_kelley_baran_1997, title={Complete characterization of utilization-voltage power system impedance using wideband measurement}, volume={33}, ISSN={["0093-9994"]}, DOI={10.1109/28.649958}, abstractNote={Inexpensive portable instrumentation is used to measure the impedance of an example utilization-voltage power system, With the power system in normal operation, line-to-neutral, line-to-ground and neutral-to-ground impedances are measured over a bandwidth of 20 Hz-24 kHz. The measured impedance is presented as resistance and inductance, which vary with frequency.
