JOURNAL OF GEOPHYSICAL RESEARCH-ATMOSPHERES, 127(21).

By: K. Dagon*, J. Truesdale*, J. Biard, K. Kunkel n, G. Meehl* & M. Molina*

author keywords: climate modeling; machine learning; extreme precipitation; weather fronts
TL;DR: A deep learning algorithm is used to identify weather fronts in high resolution Community Earth System Model (CESM) simulations over the contiguous United States, and it is found that detected front frequencies in CESM have seasonally varying spatial patterns and responses to climate change.
