PLOS ONE, 9(9).

By: S. Gurung*, S. Mamidi*, J. Bonman, M. Xiong n, G. Brown-Guedira n & T. Adhikari n

MeSH headings : Alleles; Ascomycota / pathogenicity; Bacteria / pathogenicity; Chromosome Mapping; Chromosomes, Plant; Genetic Markers; Genetic Variation; Genome, Plant; Genome-Wide Association Study; Genotype; Linkage Disequilibrium; Plant Diseases / genetics; Plant Diseases / immunology; Plant Diseases / microbiology; Plant Immunity / genetics; Polymorphism, Single Nucleotide; Quantitative Trait Loci / immunology; Seasons; Triticum / genetics; Triticum / immunology; Triticum / microbiology
TL;DR: This work assembled an association mapping panel of 528 spring wheat landraces of diverse geographic origin for a genome-wide association study (GWAS) and showed 32 loci were significantly associated with resistance to the major leaf spot diseases of wheat. (via Semantic Scholar)

Vernalization Duration Requirement in Soft Winter Wheat is Associated with Variation at the VRN-B1 Locus

CROP SCIENCE, 54(5), 1960–1971.

By: M. Guedira n, P. Maloney n, M. Xiong n, S. Petersen n, J. Murphy n, D. Marshall n, J. Johnson*, S. Harrison*, G. Brown-Guedira n

TL;DR: Quantitative trait locus analysis was performed in a recombinant inbred line (RIL) population from the cross between cultivars NC-Neuse and AGS 2000 that are adapted to the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern regions, suggesting that these loci are major determinants of HD in winter wheat and are important for adaptation to diverse growing environments.
