A neighborhood-based CF method makes recommendations to a target customer based on the similar preference of the target customer and those in the database. Similarity measuring between users directly contributes to an effective recommendation. In this paper, we propose a sub-one quasi-norm-based similarity measure for collaborative filtering in a recommender system. The proposed similarity measure shows its advantages over those commonly used similarity measures in the literature by making better use of rating values and deemphasizing the dissimilarity between users. Computational experiments using various real-life datasets clearly indicate the superiority of the proposed similarity measure, no matter in fully co-rated, sparsely co-rated or cold-start scenarios.}, journal={Information Sciences}, publisher={Elsevier BV}, author={Jiang, Shan and Fang, Shu-Cherng and An, Qi and Lavery, John E.}, year={2019}, month={Jun}, pages={142–155} } @article{an_fang_li_nie_2018, title={Enhanced linear reformulation for engineering optimization models with discrete and bounded continuous variables}, volume={58}, ISSN={0307-904X}, url={http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.apm.2017.09.047}, DOI={10.1016/j.apm.2017.09.047}, abstractNote={In this paper, we significantly extend the applicability of state-of-the-art ELDP (equations for linearizing discrete product terms) method by providing a new linearization to handle more complicated non-linear terms involving both of discrete and bounded continuous variables. A general class of “representable programming problems” is formally proposed for a much wider range of engineering applications. Moreover, by exploiting the logarithmic feature embedded in the discrete structure, we present an enhanced linear reformulation model which requires half an order fewer equations than the original ELDP. Computational experiments on various engineering design problems support the superior computational efficiency of the proposed linearization reformulation in solving engineering optimization problems with discrete and bounded continuous variables.}, journal={Applied Mathematical Modelling}, publisher={Elsevier BV}, author={An, Qi and Fang, Shu-Cherng and Li, Han-Lin and Nie, Tiantian}, year={2018}, month={Jun}, pages={140–157} } @article{zhang_gao_an_2018, title={International investing in uncertain financial market}, volume={22}, ISSN={["1433-7479"]}, DOI={10.1007/s00500-018-3028-x}, number={16}, journal={SOFT COMPUTING}, author={Zhang, Yi and Gao, Jinwu and An, Qi}, year={2018}, month={Aug}, pages={5335–5346} } @article{qian_fang_huang_an_wang_2018, title={Reverse auctions with regret-anticipated bidders}, volume={268}, ISSN={0254-5330 1572-9338}, url={http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/s10479-017-2475-6}, DOI={10.1007/s10479-017-2475-6}, number={1-2}, journal={Annals of Operations Research}, publisher={Springer Science and Business Media LLC}, author={Qian, Xiaohu and Fang, Shu-Cherng and Huang, Min and An, Qi and Wang, Xingwei}, year={2018}, month={Sep}, pages={293–313} }
