Tissue-level distribution and speciation of foliar manganese in Eucalyptus tereticornis by µ-SXRF and µ-XANES shed light on its detoxification mechanisms

Journal of Hazardous Materials.

TL;DR: Speciation suggests that a majority of the Mn fraction was complexed by organic ligands modeled as Mn-bound malate and citrate, instead of as free aqueous Mn2+ or oxidised forms, which may be responsible for the impressively high Mn tolerance found in eucalypts. (via Semantic Scholar)
