Interaction of vanadate and chloride in chicks

Biological Trace Element Research, 23(1), 1.

By: C. Hill n

MeSH headings : Animals; Body Weight / drug effects; Bone and Bones / metabolism; Chickens; Chlorides / blood; Chlorides / pharmacology; Diet; Female; Liver / metabolism; Sodium Chloride / pharmacology; Spectrophotometry, Atomic; Vanadates / toxicity
TL;DR: Six experiments have been conducted examining the interaction of dietary sodium chloride levels and vanadate toxicity in chicks, and increasing the dietary supplement of NaCl from 0.5 to 2.0% resulted in amelioration of vanadates toxicity, as measured by growth rate. (via Semantic Scholar)

Effect of dietary copper on vanadate toxicity in chicks

Biological Trace Element Research, 23(1), 17.

By: C. Hill n

MeSH headings : Animals; Body Weight / drug effects; Bone and Bones / analysis; Chickens; Copper / pharmacology; Diet; Eating / drug effects; Female; Kidney / drug effects; Kidney / metabolism; Liver / drug effects; Liver / metabolism; Spectrophotometry, Atomic; Sulfhydryl Compounds / metabolism; Vanadates / analysis; Vanadates / toxicity; Zinc / pharmacology
TL;DR: The addition of copper to a corn-soybean diet at levels of 200 mg/kg and above lessened the growth-retarding effect of vanadate for chicks and was evident in bothad libitum-fed chicks and chicks in which feed consumption was restricted to approximately equal amounts. (via Semantic Scholar)

EFFECT OF EARLY PROTEIN AND ENERGY RESTRICTION OF LARGE TURKEY TOMS FED HIGH-FAT OR LOW-FAT REALIMENTATION DIETS .2. CARCASS CHARACTERISTICS

POULTRY SCIENCE, 69(11), 1982–1990.

By: P. Ferket* & J. Sell*

TL;DR: Diets were fed to toms from 10 days to 6 wk of age to compare two levels of protein, allowing caloric density to increase as the level of fat increased and keeping other nutrients equivalent among the diets. (via Semantic Scholar)
