Cytosolic water soluble phosphodiester in vertebrate lens

Biochimica Et Biophysica Acta, 1033, 189–193.

By: C. Burt* & J. Levine n

MeSH headings : Animals; Cytosol / analysis; Fishes; Hydrogen-Ion Concentration; Lens, Crystalline / analysis; Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy; Organophosphates / analysis; Organophosphorus Compounds / analysis; Solubility
TL;DR: The water-soluble phosphate profiles determined by 31P nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) of a broad range of vertebrate lenses are presented and threonine ethanolamine phosphodiester (TEP) in intact lenses and lens extracts is identified by its chemical shift and its physical and chemical characteristics. Free radical-mediated endothelial damage in blood vessels after electrical stimulation

American Journal of Physiology-Heart and Circulatory Physiology, 252(5), H1041–H1046.

By: F. Lamb, C. King, K. Harrell*, W. Burkel & R. Webb

MeSH headings : Acetylcholine / pharmacology; Animals; Blood Vessels / pathology; Blood Vessels / physiology; Blood Vessels / ultrastructure; Calcimycin / pharmacology; Electric Stimulation; Endothelium / pathology; Endothelium / physiology; Endothelium / ultrastructure; Free Radicals; Male; Oxygen / pharmacology; Rats; Rats, Inbred Strains; Vasoconstriction / drug effects; Vasodilation / drug effects
TL;DR: It is suggested that electrical stimulation causes endothelial damage in isolated vascular preparations and this seemingly adverse effect proves to be a useful tool for removing the endothelium in studies of isolated vascular tissues. (via Semantic Scholar)

Experimental Reproduction of Enteritis in Bobwhite Quail (Colinus virginianus) with Cryptosporidium and Reovirus

Avian Diseases, 31(4), 713.

By: J. Guy*, M. Levy, D. Ley, H. Barnes & T. Gerig

TL;DR: Five-day-old bobwhite quails inoculated with reovirus and Cryptosporidium previously isolated from the intestinal contents of young, commercially raised bob white quails experiencing severe enteritis suggest that cryptosporidia promoted systemic spread of reov virus, and reoviral intensified Cryptospora infection, but no significant synergistic effect on mortality or weight gain was detected.
