Contributors: T. Iwasaki*, J. Lapiere*, L. Chan*, C. Peavey*, Y. Liu*, D. Woodley*, J. Jones*, T. Olivry*, P. Ihrke*

author keywords: AUTOANTIBODIES; AUTOIMMUNITY; BULLOUS DISEASES; BULLOUS PEMPHIGOID ANTIGENS; DOGS; HEMIDESMOSOME; KERATINOCYTE; SALT-SPLIT SKIN
MeSH headings : Animals; Autoantibodies / blood; Autoantigens / blood; Blotting, Western / veterinary; Carrier Proteins; Collagen; Cytoskeletal Proteins; Dog Diseases / immunology; Dog Diseases / pathology; Dogs; Dystonin; Fluorescent Antibody Technique, Direct / veterinary; Fluorescent Antibody Technique, Indirect / veterinary; Immunoglobulin G / analysis; Male; Microscopy, Immunoelectron / veterinary; Nerve Tissue Proteins; Non-Fibrillar Collagens; Pemphigoid, Bullous / immunology; Pemphigoid, Bullous / pathology; Pemphigoid, Bullous / veterinary; Skin / chemistry; Skin / pathology; Skin / ultrastructure
TL;DR: The antigenic target of the autoantibodies in the serum from a 3-year-old castrated male Pit Bull Terrier with BP was characterized, and it was shown that canine keratinocytes express both the 230-kd and 180-Kd bullous pemphigoid antigens. (via Semantic Scholar)

MeSH headings : Animals; Antibodies, Monoclonal; Biopsy; CD11 Antigens / analysis; CD18 Antigens / analysis; Dog Diseases; Dogs; Epitopes / analysis; Histocompatibility Antigens Class II / analysis; Humans; Immunoenzyme Techniques; Integrins / analysis; Integrins / biosynthesis; Intercellular Adhesion Molecule-1 / analysis; Intercellular Adhesion Molecule-1 / biosynthesis; Lymphocyte Function-Associated Antigen-1 / analysis; Lymphocytes / immunology; Lymphocytes / pathology; Mycosis Fungoides / immunology; Mycosis Fungoides / pathology; Mycosis Fungoides / veterinary; Skin / immunology; Skin / pathology
TL;DR: In canine mycosis fungoides, the lack of statistically significant correlations between epithelial lymphocyte infiltration and keratinocyte ICAM-1 expression, and between lymphocyte LFA-1 staining, suggests that the L FA-1/ICam-1 pathway is not the major adhesion mechanism between lymphocytes and Keratinocytes.
