Feasibility of Unconditional Transit Signal Priority Considering Delay Savings at Signalized Intersections: A Case Study of Dalian BRT Line No.1

Procedia - Social and Behavioral Sciences, 96, 828–837.

author keywords: Bus Rapid Transit; Signalized intersection; Green extension; Green recall; Traffic volume; Delay; Analytical approach
TL;DR: T theoretical analysis based on signal display graphs of differential TSP granting strategies was undertaken to estimate delay savings and increments for prioritized and non- prioritized approaches respectively, and results show that unconditional TSP is feasible during off-peak hours, while for peak hours, feasibility of unconditional T SP mainly depended on the traffic volume of each approach. Effects of metered entry volume on an oversaturated network with dynamic signal timing

Transportation Research Record, 2356(1), 53–60.

TL;DR: This paper analyzes the effects of different traffic metering levels at the entry points of a simulated signalized network to maintain efficient vehicle processing and suggests that an optimal congestion level exists inside the network that can be achieved by a metering strategy. Synthesizing Route Travel Time Distributions from Segment Travel Time Distributions

TRANSPORTATION RESEARCH RECORD, (2396), 71–81.

Contributors: I. Isukapati n, G. List n, B. Williams n & A. Karr*

TL;DR: The Kolmogorov–Smirnov tests show that travel times synthesized from the segment-specific data are statistically different only under highly congested conditions, and even then, the percentage differences in the distributions of the synthesized and actual travel times are small.
