Role of Solvent and Dendritic Architecture on the Redox Core Encapsulation

JOURNAL OF PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY A, 116(28), 7593–7599.

By: R. Pani n & Y. Yingling n

Contributors: R. Pani n & Y. Yingling n

TL;DR: The results suggest that peripheral alkyl chains in dendrimers cause steric hindrance, which prevents branches from back folding in chloroform solvent, but in water it reverses the trend, and the presence of a hydrophobic interior and hydrophilic periphery in a dendedrimer improves core encapsulation in water while hindering encapsulations in chlorOform.
