Cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) differently affects migration and differentiation of keratinocytes via hydrogen peroxide and nitric oxide-related products

Clinical Plasma Medicine, 13, 1–8.

By: F. Kogelheide*, K. Stapelmann n, J. Balzer*, E. Demir*, P. Fuchs* & C. Opländer*

author keywords: Cold atmospheric plasma; Hydrogen peroxide, nitric oxide; Nitrogen dioxide; Nitric oxide delivery; Topical application
TL;DR: CAP treatment theoretically could kill several birds with one stone—overcome bacterial contamination, improve microcirculation and additionally compensate missing H2O2 and nitric oxide— facilitating wound healing, however, clinical CAP treatment must be well balanced. (via Semantic Scholar)

Validation and Uncertainty Quantification for Wall Boiling Closure Relations in Multiphase-CFD Solver

Nuclear Science and Engineering, 193(1-2), 81–99.

By: Y. Liu n & N. Dinh n

author keywords: Multiphase-CFD; Bayesian inference; uncertainty quantification; global sensitivity analysis; validation metric
TL;DR: The VUQ results indicate that the current empirical correlations-based wall boiling closure relations achieved satisfactory agreement on wall superheat predictions, however, the closure relations also demonstrate intrinsic inconsistency and fail to give consistently accurate predictions for all QoIs over the well-developed nucleate boiling regime.
