Ozone effect on nutrient resorption in loblolly pine

CANADIAN JOURNAL OF FOREST RESEARCH, 26(9), 1634–1642.

By: T. Baker* & H. Allen

TL;DR: Data suggest that nutrient resorption associated with elevated ozone exposure followed a pattern more closely approximating accelerated senescence rather than premature abscission per se, and also tended to increase most nutrient concentrations in both pre- and post-abscission fascicles. An evaluation of the accuracy of kernel density estimators for home range analysis

ECOLOGY, 77(7), 2075–2085.

By: D. Seaman & R. Powell*

author keywords: kernel density estimation; nonparametric statistical methods; radio telemetry; spatial analysis of home range; utilization distribution
TL;DR: Computer simulations are used to compare the area and shape of kernel density estimates to the true area andshape of multimodal two—dimensional distributions and show the fixed kernel gave area estimates with very little bias and the cross—validated fixed kernel also gave surface estimates with the lowest error.
