Association of Recent Incidence of Foliar Disease in Pine Species in the Southeastern United States with Tree and Climate Variables

Forests, 11(11), 1155.

TL;DR: This study used Forest Inventory and Analysis data to explore the intensity of foliar disease in three common pines in spatial and temporal terms using tree-level and climatic variables and applied the MaxEnt model, a presence-only species distribution model (SDM), to explore any association of folian disease incidences with the Climatic variables at a landscape level. author keywords: capture-recapture-recovery; compensatory mortality; hierarchical Bayesian model; population dynamics; predator-prey dynamics; state-space models
MeSH headings : Animals; Birds; Charadriiformes; Oncorhynchus mykiss; Predatory Behavior; Rivers
TL;DR: Analyzing a long-term mark-recapture-recovery dataset of ESA-listed steelhead trout provides novel evidence that predation by Caspian terns may have been a super additive source of mortality during the smolt life-stage and a partially additive sources of mortality to the adult life- stage.
