1994 journal article

Polymorphic expression of an equine T lymphocyte and neutrophil subset marker

Veterinary Immunology and Immunopathology, 42(1), 83–89.

By: D. Lunn*, M. Holmes* & W. Duffus*

MeSH headings : Animals; Antibodies, Monoclonal / analysis; Antigens, Surface / immunology; Biomarkers; Flow Cytometry / veterinary; Horses / immunology; Immunophenotyping; Lymph Nodes / immunology; Molecular Weight; Neutrophils / immunology; Polymorphism, Genetic; T-Lymphocytes / immunology; Thymus Gland / immunology
TL;DR: A group of antibodies recognize a 22 kDa antigen, which is present on a large subset of T lymphocytes and neutrophils, and on medullary thymocytes, and the antigen is polymorphic in its expression, and three equine phenotypes could be identified using the described antibodies. Report of the First International Workshop on Equine Leucocyte Antigens, Cambridge, UK, July 1991

Veterinary Immunology and Immunopathology, 42(1), 3–60.

By: J. Kydd*, D. Antczak*, W. Allen*, D. Barbis*, G. Butcher*, W. Davis*, W. Duffus*, N. Edington* ...

MeSH headings : Animals; Antigens, CD / classification; Antigens, CD / immunology; B-Lymphocytes / immunology; Histocompatibility Antigens / classification; Histocompatibility Antigens / immunology; Horses / immunology; International Cooperation; T-Lymphocytes / immunology; Terminology as Topic; United Kingdom
TL;DR: There are still substantial gaps in the armory of reagents available to study equine leucocyte biology, and further definition of the structure, function, and genetics of the antigens identified by the workshop clusters and other molecules of immunological importance will be a goal of future workshops. Correlation between monoclonal antibody reactivity and expression of CD4 and CD8α genes in the horse

Veterinary Immunology and Immunopathology, 42(1), 61–69.

By: G. Grünig*, D. Barbis*, C. Zhang*, W. Davis*, D. Lunn* & D. Antczak*

MeSH headings : Animals; Antibodies, Monoclonal / immunology; CD4 Antigens / genetics; CD4 Antigens / immunology; CD8 Antigens / genetics; CD8 Antigens / immunology; DNA Probes; Gene Expression; Genes; Horses / immunology; Nucleic Acid Hybridization; RNA / biosynthesis; T-Lymphocytes / immunology
TL;DR: The results suggest that the equine CD4 and CD8 alpha genes are more closely related to the human than to the murine counterparts, and support the assignment of the CD3 and CD4 specificities to the antibodies listed above. (via Semantic Scholar)
