JOURNAL OF VETERINARY INTERNAL MEDICINE, 6(4), 245–249.

By: C. Novotney*, R. Page n, D. Macy n, M. Dewhirst*, G. Ogilvie n, S. Withrow n, M. Mcentee, G. Heidner ...

MeSH headings : Animals; Bone Marrow / drug effects; Chemotherapy, Adjuvant; Dog Diseases / therapy; Dogs; Doxorubicin / adverse effects; Doxorubicin / therapeutic use; Drug Evaluation; Female; Heart / drug effects; Hyperthermia, Induced / veterinary; Lymphoma / therapy; Lymphoma / veterinary; Male; Treatment Outcome
TL;DR: Fifteen previously untreated dogs with histologically confirmed, high-grade multicentric lymphoma were entered into a phase I study to evaluate combined doxorubicin and whole-body hyperthermia (DOX/WBH), and two dogs had treatment-related toxicity. (via Semantic Scholar)

ISOLATION OF FELINE HERPESVIRUS-1 FROM THE TRIGEMINAL GANGLIA OF ACUTELY AND CHRONICALLY INFECTED CATS

JOURNAL OF VETERINARY INTERNAL MEDICINE, Vol. 6, pp. 102–103.

By: M. Nasisse*, B. Davis n, J. Guy n, M. Davidson & W. Sussman

TL;DR: The present study describes the successful isolation of FHV-1 from the trigeminal ganglia of cats using a similar tissue culture method to that used in the most successful of such studies, in themost successful of 17 cats using an explant technique. (via Semantic Scholar)

HUMORAL IMMUNE-RESPONSE OF TURKEYS TO STRAIN-S6 AND A VARIANT MYCOPLASMA-GALLISEPTICUM STUDIED BY IMMUNOBLOTTING

AVIAN DISEASES, 36(1), 69–77.

By: A. Avakian*, D. Ley & M. Mcbride

TL;DR: Two putative variant Mycoplasma gallisepticum strains, originally isolated from commercial turkeys, were compared with eight well-characterized MG strains by sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) to assess the humoral immune response of turkeys to infection with the S6 reference strain or M876 variant strain of MG. COMPARISON OF MYCOPLASMA-SYNOVIAE ISOLATES BY IMMUNOBLOTTING

AVIAN PATHOLOGY, 21(4), 633–642.

By: A. Avakian n, D. Ley n & S. Kleven*

TL;DR: The data suggest that M. synoviae is capable of varying the molecular size of a highly immunogenic integral membrane protein, indicating that they are amphiphilic in nature and integral membrane proteins. (via Semantic Scholar)

BREEDER TURKEY HENS SEROPOSITIVE AND CULTURE-NEGATIVE FOR MYCOPLASMA-SYNOVIAE

AVIAN DISEASES, 36(3), 782–787.

By: A. Avakian*, D. Ley, J. Berkhoff & M. Ficken

TL;DR: Four flocks of clinically normal turkey breeder hens were shown to have suspect and positive Mycoplasma synoviae hemagglutination-inhibition (HI), enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, and, in some cases, serum plate agglutination serology in the absence of MS isolation, and this work shows that immunoblotting can be an important tool in the diagnosis of poultry diseases.
