APPLIED AND ENVIRONMENTAL MICROBIOLOGY, 83(19).

author keywords: cyanobacteria; genome analysis; phylogenetic analysis; tetrapyrroles; tolyporphin
MeSH headings : Bacterial Proteins / genetics; Bacterial Proteins / metabolism; Biosynthetic Pathways; Cyanobacteria / chemistry; Cyanobacteria / genetics; Cyanobacteria / growth & development; Cyanobacteria / metabolism; Genome, Bacterial; Metagenomics; Multigene Family; Phylogeny; Porphyrins / biosynthesis; Porphyrins / chemistry
TL;DR: It is found that the HT-58-2 culture is composed of the cyanobacterium and a community of associated bacteria, complicating the question of which organisms make tolyporphins, and an intriguing gene cluster that contains tetrapyrrole biosynthesis genes and a collection of unknown genes suggests a possible role in toly porphin biosynthesis.
