A four-wagon, peanut drying facility using partial air recirculation and a solar attic was designed, constructed, and tested. Energy consumption in the facility was approximately 40% less than in conventional peanut drying systems. It was estimated that 70% of the energy savings was due to recirculation and 30% due to solar energy collection.
