Enzyme activity increases during the early larval stages, decreases in the pupal stage and increases again in the adult housefly. The female has slightly higher γ-glutamyl transferase activity than the male, depending on age, and enzyme activity of body regions was found to decrease in the order: abdomen > head > thorax. No correlation was found between γ-glutamyl transferase activity and the resistance mechanism involving glutathione S- transferase in several susceptible and insecticide-resistant housefly strains.}, number={4}, journal={INSECT BIOCHEMISTRY}, author={BIXLER, CJ and DAUTERMAN, WC}, year={1981}, pages={463–466} }
