Contrasts with control values were greatest for the 1st day after analogue ingestion. 6-MP was the more potent analogue, but its action fell short of the degree of infecundity and zygote lethality desirable in a chemosterilant. Both analogues induced an appreciable proportion of Stage 1 deaths (embryos failing to complete cleavage) but significant differences in damage to transitional cells (mitotic follicular epithelium) imply difference in mode of action. Shorter eggs and smaller urate cells for treated wasps are interpreted as evidence of modified somatic metabolism.}, number={2}, journal={JOURNAL OF ECONOMIC ENTOMOLOGY}, author={CASSIDY, JD and GROSCH, DS}, year={1973}, pages={319–324} }
