The following analyses are used : UPGMA clustering, principal components analysis, multidimensional scaling, minimum spanning tree, and phylogenetic analysis using parsimony. The evolution of the Aconophorini seems to have involved considerable homoplasy among most characters studies. Nonetheless, the genera Aconophora Fairmaire and Calloconophora Dietrich are stable groups supported by synapomorphies. The genus Guayaquila Goding is apparently paraphyletic, but its recognition is supported by phenetic criteria}, number={3}, journal={ANNALS OF THE ENTOMOLOGICAL SOCIETY OF AMERICA}, author={DIETRICH, CH and DEITZ, LL}, year={1991}, month={May}, pages={228–238} } @book{dietrich_deitz_1991, title={Revision of the Neotropical treehopper tribe Aconophorini (Homoptera: Membracidae)}, number={293}, journal={Revision of the Neotropical treehopper tribe Aconophorini (Homoptera: Membracidae)}, publisher={Raleigh, NC : North Carolina Agricultural Research Service, North Carolina State University}, author={Dietrich, C.
