Pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties of conventional and CD-formulated diltiazem in cats

JOURNAL OF VETERINARY INTERNAL MEDICINE, 10(5), 316–320.

By: L. Johnson n, C. Atkins n, B. Keene n & S. Bai n

TL;DR: It is concluded that DLT at 1 mg/kg p.o. o. sid provide plasma concentrations that are known to have pharmacodynamic effects in other species and heart rate and PR intervals in cats receiving the 2 formulations at steady-state were not different from those measured in the drug-free state. THE INFLUENCE OF CIMETIDINE ON THE PHARMACOKINETICS OF THE ENANTIOMERS OF VERAPAMIL IN THE DOG DURING MULTIPLE ORAL DOSING

JOURNAL OF VETERINARY PHARMACOLOGY AND THERAPEUTICS, 18(2), 117–123.

By: L. Johnson n, S. Lankford n & S. Bai n

MeSH headings : Administration, Oral; Animals; Biological Availability; Blood Proteins / metabolism; Chromatography, High Pressure Liquid; Cimetidine / administration & dosage; Cimetidine / pharmacology; Cross-Over Studies; Dogs / metabolism; Dose-Response Relationship, Drug; Drug Interactions; Female; Half-Life; Injections, Intravenous; Protein Binding; Spectrometry, Fluorescence; Stereoisomerism; Verapamil / administration & dosage; Verapamil / blood; Verapamil / chemistry; Verapamil / pharmacokinetics
TL;DR: Cimetidine co-administration significantly reduced the systemic clearance of racemic verapamil as well as that of its enantiomers by 25-29% and the decrease in verAPamil metabolism by cimetidine appeared to be non-stereoselective. (via Semantic Scholar)
