Genotypes that are most efficient in utilizing energy may not always displace less efficient ones, and the evolution of energy allocation strategies may not always favour reproductive fitness because of their effects on destabilizing population growth rates. Furthermore, genetic polymorphisms in single loci that affect such traits can be maintained in populations with stable, periodic changes in population size and gene frequencies in the absence of heterozygote superiority. In fact, in the models investigated in this paper, the polymorphism is maintained, even in the absence of equilibrium genotypic frequencies.}, number={1}, journal={GENETICAL RESEARCH}, author={NAMKOONG, G and BISHIR, J and ROBERDS, JH}, year={1993}, month={Aug}, pages={57–62} } @article{namkoong_jonsson_eriksson_1992, title={Genetic variation in nutrient response functions}, volume={85}, number={2-3}, journal={Theoretical and Applied Genetics}, author={Namkoong, G. and Jonsson, A. and Eriksson, G.}, year={1992}, pages={165} } @article{namkoong_kang_1990, title={Quantitative genetics of forest trees}, volume={8}, ISBN={0881921734}, journal={Plant Breeding Reviews}, author={Namkoong, G. and Kang, H.}, year={1990}, pages={139} } @article{namkoong_selgrade_1986, title={FREQUENCY-DEPENDENT SELECTION IN LOGISTIC GROWTH-MODELS}, volume={29}, ISSN={["1096-0325"]}, DOI={10.1016/0040-5809(86)90005-5}, abstractNote={This paper describes the dynamics of a continuously reproducing diploid population with two alleles at one locus. The dependent variables are allele frequency and population density. We modify the basic density-dependent logistic growth model by inserting three possible types of frequency dependence in the fitness functions. These models are analyzed and contrasted with the purely density-dependent situation. Examples are given of periodic fluctuations in allele frequency and population density, which would be impossible for purely density-dependent fitness functions.}, number={1}, journal={THEORETICAL POPULATION BIOLOGY}, author={NAMKOONG, G and SELGRADE, JF}, year={1986}, month={Feb}, pages={64–86} }
