2009 journal article

Ethanol and acetate production by Clostridium ljungdahlii and Clostridium autoethanogenum using resting cells

BIOPROCESS AND BIOSYSTEMS ENGINEERING, 32(3), 369–380.

By: J. Cotter n, M. Chinn n & A. Grunden n

author keywords: Clostridium ljungdahlii; Clostridium autoethanaogenum; Ethanol; Acetate; Resting cells; Non-growing cells
MeSH headings : Acetates / metabolism; Cell Culture Techniques / methods; Clostridium / chemistry; Clostridium / classification; Clostridium / growth & development; Clostridium / metabolism; Ethanol / metabolism; Hydrogen-Ion Concentration; Nitrogen / metabolism; Species Specificity
TL;DR: Clostridium autoethanogenum cultures were not induced into true resting states but did show improvement in total ethanol production as well as increased shifts in ethanol-to-acetate production ratios, and resting cell states were induced in autotrophic Clostridia ljungdahlii cultures. 2009 journal article

Influence of process parameters on growth of Clostridium ljungdahlii and Clostridium autoethanogenum on synthesis gas

ENZYME AND MICROBIAL TECHNOLOGY, 44(5), 281–288.

By: J. Cotter n, M. Chinn n & A. Grunden n

author keywords: Clostridium ljungdahlii; Clostridium autoethanaogenum; Synthesis gas fermentation; Ethanol; Acetate
TL;DR: Higher flow rates resulted in greater end product formation with no significant effect on product ratios in C. autoethanogenum fermentations, and the ethanol to acetate ratios were smaller at lower pH levels and higher flow rates. (via Semantic Scholar)
