A Laboratory-Intensive Course on the Experimental Study of Protein-Protein Interactions

BIOCHEMISTRY AND MOLECULAR BIOLOGY EDUCATION, 39(4), 300–308.

By: D. Witherow n & S. Carson n

author keywords: Protein-protein interactions; yeast two-hybrid; immunoprecipitation; laboratory
MeSH headings : Educational Measurement; Laboratories; Learning; Molecular Biology / education; Proteins / chemistry; Proteins / metabolism; Research / education; Students; Teaching / methods; Two-Hybrid System Techniques
TL;DR: Assessment of a lab‐intensive course that teaches students techniques used to identify and further study protein–protein interactions indicates that students' conceptual and technical understanding of the methodologies taught in the class increased, and that hands‐on experience in the lab was perceived to be the most important component of the course.
