PLOS ONE, 6(2).

By: S. Mikkelsen n, J. Long n, L. Zhang n, E. Galemore n, S. VandeWoude* & G. Dean n

MeSH headings : Acute Disease; Acute-Phase Reaction / immunology; Animals; Antibodies, Monoclonal / administration & dosage; CD4-Positive T-Lymphocytes / immunology; CD4-Positive T-Lymphocytes / pathology; Cat Diseases / immunology; Cat Diseases / virology; Cats; Disease Progression; Down-Regulation / immunology; Feline Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome / etiology; Feline Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome / immunology; Feline Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome / pathology; Feline Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome / virology; Female; Immunodeficiency Virus, Feline / immunology; Immunodeficiency Virus, Feline / physiology; Interleukin-2 Receptor alpha Subunit / immunology; Lymphocyte Count; Lymphocyte Depletion / methods; Lymphocyte Depletion / veterinary; Specific Pathogen-Free Organisms; T-Lymphocytes, Regulatory / immunology; T-Lymphocytes, Regulatory / pathology; Viremia / veterinary
TL;DR: It is reported here that partial Treg cell depletion prior to FIV infection does not significantly change provirus, viremia, or CD4+ T cell levels in blood and lymphoid tissues during the acute phase of disease. (via Semantic Scholar)

In vivo depletion of CD4(+)CD25(hi) regulatory T cells is associated with improved antiviral responses in cats chronically infected with feline immunodeficiency virus

VIROLOGY, 403(2), 163–172.

By: S. Mikkelsen n, S. Reckling n, E. Egan n & G. Dean n

author keywords: Feline immunodeficiency virus; HIV-1; Lentivirus; Regulatory T cell; Immunosuppression; Monoclonal antibody
MeSH headings : Animals; Antibodies, Monoclonal / administration & dosage; Antibodies, Viral / blood; CD4 Antigens / analysis; Cat Diseases / immunology; Cat Diseases / virology; Cats; Female; Immunodeficiency Virus, Feline / immunology; Interleukin-2 Receptor alpha Subunit / analysis; Lentivirus Infections / immunology; Lentivirus Infections / veterinary; Lymphocyte Depletion; T-Lymphocytes, Regulatory / chemistry; T-Lymphocytes, Regulatory / immunology
TL;DR: It is proposed that short-term in vivo Treg cell depletion during chronic HIV-1 infection could provide a window of opportunity for therapeutic vaccination in individuals with controlled viral replication. (via Semantic Scholar)
