TL;DR: Kenaf is a relatively new crop to North Carolina and its impact on cropping systems has not been clearly determined, but yield was higher when planted May 15 rather than June 15 and when kenaf was planted in rows spaced 8 inches apart compared to rows spaced 36 inches apart.
