2017 journal article

Pharmaceuticals in a temperate forest-water reuse system

Science of The Total Environment, 581-582, 705–714.

By: A. McEachran n, D. Shea n & E. Nichols n

Contributors: A. McEachran n, D. Shea n & E. Nichols n

MeSH headings : Cosmetics / analysis; Environmental Monitoring; Forests; Groundwater / analysis; Pharmaceutical Preparations / analysis; Soil / chemistry; Wastewater; Water Pollutants, Chemical / analysis
TL;DR: PPCP concentrations in surface waters were greater at the onset of significant storm events and during low-rainfall periods when total summed PPCPs were higher than the annual average, and the more hydrophobic chemicals were predominant in soil over water. (via Semantic Scholar)

Pharmaceutical occurrence in groundwater and surface waters in forests land-applied with municipal wastewater

Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry, 35(4), 898–905.

By: A. McEachran n, D. Shea n, W. Bodnar* & E. Nichols n

Contributors: A. McEachran n, D. Shea n, W. Bodnar* & E. Nichols n

author keywords: Pharmaceuticals; Wastewater; Groundwater; Liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry
MeSH headings : Cities; Forests; Geography; Groundwater / chemistry; Household Products / analysis; North Carolina; Pharmaceutical Preparations / analysis; Wastewater / chemistry; Water Pollutants, Chemical / analysis
