MEMBRANES, 12(10).

By: J. Fan n, E. Barbieri n, S. Shastry n, S. Menegatti n, C. Boi & R. Carbonell n

author keywords: adeno-associated virus (AAV); viral vector purification; nonwovens; membrane adsorber; anion exchange; cation exchange; membrane chromatography
TL;DR: A strong anion-exchange membrane was developed by UV grafting glycidyl methacrylate on a polybutylene terephthalate nonwoven followed by functionalization with triethylamine, resulting in a quaternary amine ligand (AEX-TEA membrane) that exhibited a high AAV2 binding capacity and achieved excellent DNA clearance and a recovery of infectivity higher that that reported using ion-ex exchange resin chromatography.
