author keywords: Canine; Urothelial carcinoma; Transitional cell carcinoma; Cytogenetics; Chromosome aberration; Array comparative genomic hybridization; Comparative oncology
MeSH headings : Animals; Biopsy; Carcinoma / veterinary; Chromosome Aberrations; Comparative Genomic Hybridization; Computational Biology / methods; DNA Copy Number Variations; Dogs; Female; Genetic Loci; Genomics / methods; Humans; In Situ Hybridization, Fluorescence; Male; Urologic Neoplasms / veterinary
TL;DR: It is proposed that common aberrations found in primary canine UC biopsies are indicative of an evolutionarily conserved mechanism of pathogenesis and harbor genes key to urothelial neoplasia, warranting investigation for diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic applications.
