I think about myself as a "viro-immunologist". I have a veterinary background and I'm working in veterinary virology, immunology, and vaccinology, mainly in pigs. I also worked in human viral infections (influenza, HIV, HSV2). I was always interested in innate immunity and cellular responses against viral infections. I have worked with complement system, virus-like particles, different RNA and DNA viruses. I promote the use of pig as large biomedical model for human research.
